Villa Histra’s website was already built on WordPress with a commercial hotel theme and a multilingual setup powered by WPML. The site had useful content and a working structure, so a full redesign was not the most practical first step.
Like many older DIY WordPress websites, it had accumulated several issues over time: PHP 8 compatibility problems, performance limitations, inconsistent translations, and SEO details that needed attention.
I focused on targeted technical improvements that made the existing website faster, more stable, and better prepared for modern hosting. This included updating the older hotel theme for PHP 8, improving PageSpeed performance, cleaning up technical SEO details, and reviewing multilingual inconsistencies in the WPML setup.
The result was a faster, more reliable website that could continue serving the property without the cost and complexity of a full rebuild.
