Yesterday (8th of August) I decided to go for a drive and ended up at the Şerpeni Memorial, roughly 65km away from Chişinău.

First we went to Bulboaca village, after that to Speia and in another 20km we were at the Şerpeni Headbridge Memorial (Complexul Memorial Şerpeni), which wasn’t a planned stop. But the memorial looks clean and neat, with a very cool view over the Dniester (Nistru) river.

I decided to take only HDR photos (with the 18-55mm lens), though it was a cloudy day.

During the period 24/04 – 01/05 I went on a small vacation to Turkey. My main point of interest was to take some cool HDR photos of different structures as well as under various weather/lighting conditions.
All in all it was a very pleasant experience.

All photos were created from 3 bracketed (+2) shots taken with a Nikon D5000 and a 18-55mm VR lens. HDRs created with Photomatix Pro 3.

P.S. if you would like to use any of these photos please contact me, maybe I could provide a RAW / unaltered version of the images.

During my vacation at Imperial Shams Hotel (Hurghada, Egypt) in January 2010, I tried taking a few HDR photos. Without too many preparations and zero experience, here is the result:

Imperial Shams, Hurghada, Egypt (HDR)

Each HDR consists of 3 photos with an exposure bracket of 2, processed with Photomatix Pro 3.

What do you think? Any advice?

During the past few days I was thinking about getting myself a portrait-type lens for my Nikon D5000 camera. After some research, the choice fell on AF-S NIKKOR 50mm f/1.4G, as other good portrait lens are out of my budget limit. After getting it I went...
