Caught in the actionJune 7, 2010

Two days ago I had the chance to catch this young cat on a fence, in a small Ukrainian village. Just look at his attitude :)

P.S. my 18-55mm lens was on, the bokeh turned out surprisingly good.

Today I was finally able to go outside with my Nikon D5000 and take some shots in the great outdoors (the playground in front of my parents house).

I have used only the Nikon AF-S Nikkor 50mm f/1.4G (portrait) lens with an ISO of 250 and an average shutter speed of 1/1000s, with an aperture of 1.4.
P.S. The weather was cloudy :(

If you don’t like animals, especially cats, then you won’t find these photos interesting :)

I would like to thank my dog Hammer for his protection and for the reason to go out and take my camera with me :)

As winter refuses to make room for spring, I keep taking indoor photographs… And what better model than my parents’s cat Sonya? This time in black and white :)

Sonya and Simba at HomeFebruary 22, 2010

Yesterday I took some more photos of my two cats, Simba and Sonya. I just can’t have enough of them :)

Simba’s Photo DebutJanuary 6, 2010

I wasn’t able to get good shots of my cat Simba with the 18-55mm VR lens, as it required slower shutter speeds. Fortunately, the new 50mm f/1.4G lens does the trick :)

Enjoy!

Yesterday I was lucky enough to catch Sonya in a good mood :)
Here are two of the shots I took:

Today I had the pleasure of taking a few photos of my dear cat Sonya (the youngest in our family).

Posting a few photos and a few edits in Photoshop CS 3 :)

During the past few days I was thinking about getting myself a portrait-type lens for my Nikon D5000 camera. After some research, the choice fell on AF-S NIKKOR 50mm f/1.4G, as other good portrait lens are out of my budget limit. After getting it I went...
