Google Made me Switch to Bing
I just finished reading this post by Mat Honan on Gizmodo, Google Just Made Bing the Best Search Engine and I felt like doing something about it.
Nothing special, no Occupy Google, no hunger-protests. I simply switched my default search engine in Opera and Chrome to Bing.
I haven’t used Bing since the day of its release, so why not give it a try, right? How bad can it really be? So I decided to use only Bing till the end of January, for almost 3 weeks.
I don’t think this will hurt Google in any way, I don’t even have the intention to hurt them. Google is a great company with some amazing (and FREE) products. However I do think that the “smaller” guys deserve a chance, if nothing else. Maybe Bing will surprise me more than I think, just as Opera did many years ago.
A less-popular product does not mean it is less-efficient, many businesses have proved this in the past.
